Our Orange Luxembourg tips
1
I activate my voicemail function/Handsfree
Before setting off, switch your mobile to silent mode and use your voicemail function to indicate to callers that you are at the wheel. Or: pass your mobile over to one of your passengers so that they can answer calls in your stead.
For recent vehicles, the hands-free kit lets you pick up the phone in total safety, with, as its name indicates, your hands free.
2
I stop the vehicle to communicate
If you cannot wait and you just have to take or make a call, send a text or scroll through the feed of your favourite social network,, bring the vehicle to a halt in a suitable place, such as a parking lot, lay-by or rest area, etc.
3
On the bike, my smartphone stays in my pocket
Road safety also applies when on a bicycle, motorbike or any other two-wheeled means of transport! Turn on messaging and put your phone away in your pocket. Again, if you just must call, stop in an appropriate place.

I’m a pedestrian. I am just as much concerned
As a pedestrian you should be just as attentive as a car driver. This also concerns you! Put away your smartphone and take it out when you’ve stopped walking.
